Actually, Pinto Basin Road, this view is looking south toward the Colorado Desert section of the park. The Mojave area has the Joshua Trees and this section is starkly bare with only cholla cactus and Ocotillo to punctuate the low, Creosote Bushes. One of my favorite vistas, it can be brutally hot here. But as I remember, this scene was photographed on a cooler day. I have seen tarantulas scurry across the road in this area.
